Heather: It's so much easier for guys to donate than girls
Ryan: Well, that's why guys only get 50 dollars and a bumper sticker.
Me: Hahahaha- a bumper sticker?
Ryan: Yeah..."honk if you're my kid."
Today was another great day at work! I really enjoy working in a coffee shop. I'm still in training; this week I'm learning how to work at the venue on Park Ave. I trained with a different guy (Dan) today, and he was amazing.
A little bit about Dan (he made a big impression on me):
1) He could have received an art diploma from RIT, but renounced it the final week before graduation because he didn't want to have his art education accredited to the school. He felt they did nothing for his education; he caused a huge uproar in their art department.
2) Currently, he hasn't eaten in 9 days. He's doing some crazy cleansing ritual which requires no food for 23 days. He's basically living off of water, lemon and lime juice, and honey. I did not know this was possible. I personally could never do it, and think it's kind of crazy, but at the same time, you have to have respect for a person that has that sort of persistence to be able to do such a thing. Incredible.
3) He loves his job at the coffee shop and wants to work there until he's 60. He says he lives wealthy off of very little.
4) He's a Scorpio. Like me. Enough said.
Sandy, my boss, told me that Jason (the guy I trained with last week) told her I was really good, and thus she's already putting me on two real shifts this week. Yay! If I keep being put on random shifts, I will be able to work overtime, and thus make a lot of money, and thus be able to go see Todd and thus make myself obscenely happy.
I love Jason for that comment. He was even cooler than Dan. He likes all of my music and the same books and shows. He's witty and sarcastic and we work well together. We have looks that speak volumes.. One is something like "That guy is an asshole." Another is "Yeah, this shift is going well." It's funny, and I enjoy it.
Todd and my six month anniversary was June 1st. Half a year, and he's an entire country away! I'm so upset about it, but I'm really trying to take it one day at a time and focus on the hope of getting to see him in July, maybe. I made him a book to celebrate. It was kind of funny and had hand drawn sasquatch (if you know Todd at all, you know he loves all things big foot).
