She'd been gone for several weeks now. Normally she wouldn't be so exicted to be back, and yet, she was. A grin crossed her face as Ester hurried in. Her Mother had sent her a letter telling her, insisting she go visit family way up in the northern regions. But now she was back in Shiko, where she belonged and all was right with the world. Save for, of course, her heart still feeling like it had been stomped on when Aiden had told her to get lost. But things were better now, she was better.
Walking into the gym she looked around and then grinned when she saw Garth. Before he could stop her, Ester had run up, flung her arms around the taller man and gave him a huge hug, which unfortnately resulted in her crashing into his nose and accidntly bumping lips with him.
Garth wasn't quite as shocked by the accidental kiss as he was by the accidental headbutt that accompanied it. He held his hand against his forehead and nose and would have stumbled back but Ester had a grip like a vice.
"Please...refrain from doing that agian." He said, slowly getting over the surprise and smiling, returning the hug. He'd missed Ester. Annoying as it was having her poking into his business all the time it was far worse when nobody cared.
"I'm glad you're back. You've missed a lot. It's been...an eventful few weeks." He said sleepily.
"Okay, and um sorry about that, though I must admit you have a nice kiss." Ester teased him some but then smiled brightly and grinned. She missed Garth so much. It was silly of her to feel that way but she liked having his cool attitude.
Hugging him again, because she was just so giddie, she gave Hoppip a treat, and looked at him seriously, "What happened? I got back and several people were talking about really bad things happening."
"Wha-" Garth began before stopping and sighing. He would never understand how Ester's mind worked. Hoppip ate the treat happily and jumped into Ester's arms. She'd missed Ester just as much as her trainer had.
Out of Ester's grip and forced to remember the chaos of a few weeks ago, Garth leaned back against the tree again and slid down it until he was sat on the ground. He hung his head and sighed again, former good mood lost.
"There was a heatwave. The hedge caught fire again, badly. There were...fatalities."
