(no subject)
Yesterday, for the first time in my ENTIRE life, I got to see a doctor who:
~ LISTENED to me
~ did NOT talk down to me
~ made EYE CONTACT with me
~ responded to me as though the things I had spoken were of real merit and she wasn't just waiting for her turn to speak
~ took the things I said into consideration while determining how to proceed
~ ordered a COMPLETE collection of tests
I am so excited, I don't have a way to explain it. I have waited SEVENTEEN years for this.
Part of me is saying to calm down. After all, I had bloodwork done seventeen years ago, and the doctor disappeared and never told us the results. But this time, I'll be going to the hospital to get the tests. I don't think they can pick up and relocate an entire hospital in a few weeks' time...
I just have to make sure that there isn't a hidden fee in this, and everything will be set!
