[He asks it neutrally and uninterestedly, but he does want to know.]

Kind of. It won't be able to last us the whole week- but we might get a night. There aren't that many nights left in the week, so one will make a difference. And even if it isn't one hundred percent effective, it's better than sitting around and waiting to sleep.

But most of all, it'll be fun.

[It seems a simple solution with few drawbacks beside ineffectualness, so he nods slowly and calmly.]

[It takes an inordinately long amount of time for him to get to the kitchen, but he does show up.]

[Violet is already there, getting a pot onto the stove.]

[He seems almost dazed, looking through things more than at them, but his turns toward her.]

We have to melt the chocolate to cover them in. I was thinking it might be easier to do bark.

[He doesn't know what any of that means, but he doesn't really care either. He just drifts over to lean against the counter, not speaking.]

I'm not doing this alone. Come on, roll up your sleeves.

[wingsandwill]

[He just kind of looks at her blankly, then at the pot, then back up at her. He doesn't bother to ask what it is she wants him to do, already lost back into thought.]

[Snapping her fingers at him.]

Castiel. Are you okay?

[wingsandwill]

[He looks at her again, this time a little more focused, though his tone is still neutral when he replies.]

I'm fine.

[effyourcupcake]

Can you please go get down a cup of chocolate chips?

[wingsandwill]

[Okay, he could do that. He wanders to the cabinet and locates the chocolate chips, handing them over silently and watching what she would do with them. It's a little bit more engagement, at least.]
