I don't know why, but I almost always loathe instant messaging. It seems to be a particular haven of people that I barely know and don't really feel like talking to, most of whom make really irritating conversation. And I always feel obligated to be polite and respond to them, all without the aid of verbal and body-language cues for "Oh hey, you're nearly a total stranger and I only want to talk to you for about 15 seconds! Goodbye!"
Ah well. Since I don't use instant messaging 90% of the time, the only time this usually happens if if I spend too long on Facebook. :P
See the dramatic increase in my posting frequency as it gets closer to moving time? Apparently this is how I cope with stress. *sigh*
