So I am doing a meme to cheer myself up. Not because I was tagged, and I probably won't tag anyone else, but I need something distracting.
First, I shall elaborate why this day sucked. I got out of bed to turn off my alarm this morning and my neck made an enormous clunking noise and proceeded to hurt excruciatingly. Thus, I could not properly move my head all day. I stayed home from class because this morning any movement AT ALL was impossible, and have been lying gingerly on my recliner, occasionally icing my neck. Luckily I live with my mom and my mom is a chiropractor, so she can sort of gently fix the bits of my neck that will turn at all. HOPEFULLY I'll be able to function tomrrow because I have classes all day including a lab and then a choir practice at which I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a solo. ARGH.
Reading has been somewhat uncomfortable, though better since I haven't had to keep my head tilted up quite so much. Also I can almost look at the computer screen straight on now. I still must be very careful not to follow anything with my head instead of my eyes or to rub my nose too hard (damn, that hurts). I did get one book read for school but feel somewhat delinquent in that I have not been trying very hard to get schoolwork done. But really, it's freaking hard to concentrate when you can't move or turn your head and your neck really hurts. I need, like, comfort food and childish entertainment.
Thus, meme:
A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.
B) Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
Make a list of things you can see without getting up:
My mother sitting and reading on the recliner across the room, a small doll-Santa, the Christmas tree, a lamp, a side table with some of Mom's stocking stuffers on it, balloons (why yes we do celebrate Christmas for a rather long time, why do you ask?), a snowman snowglobe, the piano, a music stand, many family pictures, a plant, curtains, the cat's basket, an angel candleholder, the TV & DVD player, another lamp, a basket full of Christmas movies, the CD tower, the CD player, and that's all without being able to turn my head and not counting my peripheral vision.
How do you style your hair?
I put curl gel in it after my shower and then I blow dry it once it's partially dry. With a diffuser. Sometimes I make pin-curls when it's not being curly enough.
What are you wearing now?
Pajamas that I got for Christmas - pink with candies all over them on the bottom, and 3 big candy canes on the top.
Do you have some sort of secret superpower?
Does making half my face happy and half my face sad at the same time count?
What's the last thing you read/are currently reading?
I just finished reading Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott. Very interesting and funny satire! And what interesting concepts...
Do you nap a lot?
For sure. I have a problem with going to bed at a decent time, so I fall asleep on the bus on the way to school (the probable cause of my terrible neck), and sometimes in the student lounges at school, and often at home in the middle of the afternoon. I think I have a borderline problem with napping. Yesterday I meant to nap for half an hour and instead slept for 2.
Who was the last person you hugged?
My mom.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Questionable Content! OMG, I love that comic. So much. I just started a Facebook discussion group for it with my friends. I think I am the most enthusiastic one.
What was the last thing you ate today?
A fudge crackle kiss cookie. So delicious (though a bit stale).
What was the last thing you said aloud?
"Thank you." To my mom for getting me an ice pack.
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Hotmail, LJ Friends page, DeviantArt, xkcd, Questionable Content (if it is near update time), facebook,
metaquotes. Oh, and Go Fug Yourself. My online creative writing course, if I am feeling virtuous.
Last thing you bought:
Marble cheese and tomatoes.
What are you listening to right now?
The hum of the refrigerator and my mom turning pages.
What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
Oh man... I go to Curves gym, and they play workout music there, and as I was lying in bed last night I had this terrible track stuck in my head where they just say "Get up and boogie!" over and over again, and I was like, "NO, I do not want to get up and boogie. I want to go to sleep!"
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation. It might not actually solve my lateness problem because then I'd probably just leave after I was supposed to be somewhere, but just think! No more 7 hours a week on the bus! So amazing!
What is your favorite weather, and why?
Sunshine sunshine sunshine. Sooo much eaiser to be happy! I love bright weather.
How are you?
Kind of pained. Other than that, okay I guess.
What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
As in something I am too passive agressive to say to someone that I'm angry with in real life? Or just something to someone that I don't actually want to say to their face? Um... I would like to say to the hypothetical man in my life that he needs to show up soon.
Say something to the person who tagged you.
I was not tagged! But I love
reallycorking's journal anyway. It is so fun to read.
Okay, honestly, if I had anyone to tag, I would. But seriously, I have like... two LJ friends? And I'm not even sure they read my journal? So, kind of pointless. :D
