Sungmin walked into the kitchen on another normal morning. "Good morning hyung!" Kyuhyun commented as he handed Sungmin a bowl of cereal. "Thank you." At that moment, Leeteuk and Kangin came in. "Good morning, Umma. Appa. Saranghaeyo!" Sungmin glomped leeteuk then kangin, placing a kiss on each of their cheeks. Leeteuk smiled and patted Sungmin's head. "Eat up, schedules in an hour." Hankyung came into the dining room with a plate of eggs and sausages. "anyone want eggs?" "ooh! me hyung!" Sungmin jumped up and grabbed the plate. "Saranghae, hankyung hyung!" IT was no surprise that Sungmin was behaving this way as he did this every morning. But one person sat back as all the things were going on. He'd watched Sungmin say I love you to everyone, every morning, except for him. But he wasn't bitter. He'd wait for Sungmin. Kyuhyun walked slowly and pulled Hankyung aside. "Hyung, do you think Sungmin hates me? I mean, not that I really care but it'd be bad to have a hyung dislike me, you know?" Hankyung smiled knowingly at him. "I know, but this is Sungmin we're talking about. He doesn't hate anyone unless they've got a grudge against his bunny." "Hey you two! what are you talking about all secretive without me?" Sungmin jumped in and pulled them towards the building that Leeteuk and Kangin just entered.
Meanwhile going up the stairs, Leeteuk and Kangin were having a relative conversation. "I heard Sungmin was going to tell him today, but I can't find him acting any different than usual." "Well I'm sure he's going to do it and the only thing is I hope Kyuhyun doesn't reject him." "Teukie, you're dense. have you ever seen Kyuhyun look at Sungmin? Either that bboy has never been in a relationship or he's never been hurt." "Well, contemplate all you want, Kangin, I'm on the 7th floor today. " "What?" Kangin groaned immaturely and pouted at Leeteuk until he received a peck on the lips. "don't be sad. you'll have Sungmin for company." Kangin scowled and at that moment, Sungmin and Kyuhyun simultaneously sneezed before regaining composure and kept walking, not escaping from an observant Hankyung's gaze.
After work that day, Sungmin didn't follow everyone home but stopped by a florist. He'd overheard that Kyuhyun liked potted lilies. He'd ordered them months in advance to be brought there fresh, hoping Kyuhyun would like them. As he was packaging it, he asked the nice lady to put a blue ribbon around it for him. He'd also heard that blue was Kyuhyun's favorite color. The whole way home, he'd imagine Kyuhyun's reacting and smiled to himself, getting weird looks from the girls on the street, the taxi driver and the man that opened the door for him.
Meanwhile, Kyuhyun was n a heated debate with his mother over the prospect of marriage. "Umma! Stop setting me up with random girls! They all turn out to be psychos!" "But Kyuhyun! I just want what's best for you when you quit singing." "What makes you think I'll quit?" "well, Super junior will disband one day. You can't hold onto this forever. Now pick one of these girls. Any of them. Any would be happy to have you." "None of them. I don't want to!" "Why? it's not like you already have someone." "What if I do?" "Then you will bring her over to the house next week for dinner." His mother got up to leave and grabbed her jacket when a loud crashing sound was heard, causing Kyuhyun to look towards the door.
Sungmin had reached the front door with a full smile but as he opened the door, he caught part of the argument he didn't want to interrupt. "Why? It's not like you already have someone." IT was Kyuhyun and his mother. His mother was a relatively nice woman but had a huge son complex. As Sungmin listened on, he understood her reason for coming. "Then you will bring her over for dinner next week." Sungmin dropped the plant and the pot crumbled, just like his heart. "I-i'm sorry." Sungmin ran off without another word, cursing himself in his mind. "of course he has a girlfriend, why would someone like him. So wonderful. So beautiful, be single? I'm a fool."
Kyuhyun stared at the crumbled dirt on the floor, the lacy blue ribbon buried in it and the single lily that blossomed from it. Kyuhyun looked up to see Sungmin's face, covered in tears. When he took a step towards him, he bolted. Without thinking, he tried to go after him, but his mother stopped him. "Aish~ Kyuhyun, clean that up first. Your friend can wait. He'll come back." With a glare, he shouted. "He may not be like the girls you picked for me but I love him. Nothing's going to change that." He ran off leaving his mother stunned. He ran down the stairs all the way to the lobby before finding Sungmin heading towards the back exit.
Sprinting his fastest, he caught Sungmin's hand, dragging him back towards the stairwell. "Please, stop, tell me what's wrong." Sungmin struggled weakly against his grip but Kyuhyun soon had him pinned against the door in the stairwell. "listen. What you heard, it wasn't-" "wasn't what? you inviting your girlfriend to your parent's house next week? yes it was!" "No! That's exactly what it wasn't! My mom was pressuring me to get a girlfriend so I told her i already had one. Please. It's the truth. Please believe." "Believe what? that you don't have a girlfriend? That you don't care if you're disappointing the woman who gave you life? Or that you actually expect me to believe it?" "No." Kyuhyun put his arms securely around Sungmin's neck. "believe in me. believe in my love for you." Kyuhyun smiled at sungmin before kissing his forehead. "and for what it's worth, I really don't care what my mother thinks of me." Sungmin looked over Kyuhyun's shoulder and found his mom looking at them in horror. "I'm sorry for breaking your flowers, Kyuhyun." Kyuhyun nuzzled Sungmin's cheek affectionately. "I don't know what you're talking about. My favorite flower is right here."
