Jars (Kyuhae)
"Hi Kyuhyun-shi, my name is Lee Donghae! welcome to Super Junior, I like the sun, don't you?" Donghae gave Kyuhyun a large smile that the younger boy couldn't help but reciprocate. "I'm Kyuhyun. I like snow."
Donghae never forgot their first meeting and it was surprising that it was all Donghae could think about when he heard that Kyuhyun was in the hospital. Maybe if Donghae could surround kyuhyun with things he liked, he'd come back to Donghae faster. So everyday , a new jar would appear in Kyuhyun's hospital room, containing things from paper stars to small gold fishes. It wasn't until a few months later, that Donghae would hear his voice again.
Kyuhyun cracked an eye open and sat up with a groan. Every flat surface Kyuhyun saw was covered in jars, eac one with a date scrawled in a familiar handwriting. he pressed the button at his head board and a nurse came striding in. "you're awake, I see." She had a motherly smile and gestured at the jars. "I'm guessing you've already seen these." Kyuhyun nodded. "who sent them?" "A good looking young man, in his mid twenties?" Kyuhyun rolled his eyes. That could be anyone in Super Junior."Any physical traits?" The nurse laughed lightly. "and here I thought on T.V. you were the silent type. well, physically, not much but he does talk to me sometimes to take extra care of you and something about syking his alien friends on me if I didn't." She smiled. "you'll see him later tonight, he usually comes around 10 p.m. " Kyuhyun looked at the clock and smiled. "I'll call your band mates to let them know you're awake" She walked out of the room with a knowing look.
"Donghae-hyung, huh?" Kyuhyun mused, a smile slowly appearing on his face. His eyes wandered over stuffed animals and jars with dried meat in it. Suddenly, the door swung open, revealing a snow-covered Donghae with a jar in his hands. He set the jar down and engulfed Kyuhyun in a hug. "Y-you're back." Kyuhyun could only hug him back just as desperately his chin resting on Donghae's head. He pulled away and brushed the snow out of the older man's hair. "Is it snowing outside, hyung?" Donghae nodded and opened the curtains to show Kyuhyun. "What's in the jar, hyung?" Donghae cracked a smile through his tears and handed him the jar. "Snow, Kyu. snow as white and pure and lovely as you are."
Kyuhyun remembered that night well, even now, years later when he's cleaning out the Super Junior dormitory. A hand rested reassuringly on his shoulder. "What's that, Kyu?" Donghae laid a soft kiss on his boyfriend's forehead. "a jar." Donghae raised an eyebrow and pointed at the pile of things Kyuhyun was planning on throwing away. "you don't keep all your college books but you keep this random jar of water? why?" "because I love you, that's why"
