Action plan for this year's dragon boat shooting

Jun 21, 2004 00:14

Again, the very offical day for dragon boat race
is coming~~ On this Tuesday, 22 Jun, it will
be the day for the Tuen Ng Festival, and it is also
made to be a public holiday in HK.

When Dragon Boat Race becomes an aquatic sport which
depends heavily on team spirit, faith and endurance,
it also attracts all those commercial sponsors and
business opportunities from the biggest companies.
And it'll be the best if I can record all these
powerful and colourful moments with my cameras ^^

Stanley should be the place where dragons gather
every year. But it's a bit far from my home so
I should wake up early like 7am and leave home
at 8am. Bus route no. 960 + 260 shall bring me
to the place within 2 hours. I hope I can capture
the scene when dragon people do their on-shore warm ups
and practices :)

(Since booking a dragon boat for practice is expensive,
lots of dragon boat teams prefer their main practices
to be carried out on land, thus inherited a lot of
dragon boat imitation exercises)

If the weather's fine, preferably I'll consume at least
2 rolls of E100VS Kodak Slides. And I'll see how my friend's
coolest Digital SLR camera turns out.

Since I only have a 28-105mm lens, my focus will be the features
of the dragon boat race, say the pre-race and after-race
athletes, their cheerings and playful actions, =P
and some static festival objects, instead of shooting
the finishing line which is some 300+ feet far away.

Accompanying me will be two of my friends at HKU, one BBA
student who is also a musician, and one BEng classmate
who is also a devoted fan of railway.

I really really really hope that the sun will shine on Tue
and if not, I'll have no chance to captures all those
saturated colours with my slides~~
