Movies

It was so long ago I made my last journal update,
sorry that I haven't spent so much time on Lj...
the studies...even in summer, really drew away a lot of time :)

But I managed to watch two movies before the summer ends
-- Finding Nemo (I finally watched it... English version)
-- The Medallion

I always think that watching films is one of the best
ways to boarden one's horizon...

Anyway Finding Nemo is a Walt Disney animation, it
cannot escape from the traditional format... it is a bit
idealistic, sometimes exaggerating, and having a perfectly
good and happy ending.

But well be honest, it is a story reflecting all those
interactions and issues in the true human world...
the story line just impressed me so much, and gave me
quite a number of surprises.

The luckily survived little clown fish Nemo survived
the attack and grew up in the coral reefs, under the guidance and
protection of his over cautious father Marlin... until on a
day at school, where Nemo was scooped by P.Sherman the dentist...

Acompanied by Dory, Marlin started his long journey of finding his son...
after all the adventures and escapes... sharks, seabed, jellyfishes
the EAC, pelicans... Marlin finally reached P.Sherman's dentist office,
but disppointed by seeing the 'dead' Nemo inside a plastic bag...

With all the helps from Nemo's new friends, Gill, the pelican,
Nemo finally escaped to the ocean through the drainage... and met his
father and Dory.

......Sorry I just wrote them out to prevent forgetting =)

Actually There are several moments that I've paid most attention to...

- "All drains lead to the ocean" --Gill ...the battlewise fish.
I think Gill wants to tell us that "Everything is possible",
or, "There is always a hope"

- All the ocean creatures, dolphins, craps, even pelicans spread the
adventure story of Marlin... revealing how extraordinary the faith
Marlin has... and also how impressive the power of information exchange
in a society is.

- When Dory & Marlin asked the crowd (a team!) of fishes the way to Sydney...
They all acted in 'team-work' and had a unity spirit... even
when they joked :)

- When the 'vegetarian sharks' pronounced in the gathering:
"Fishes are friends, not food", and "If we want to change our image,
we have to do it ourself"

- How Nemo easily swam across the bubble volcano and adapted to the new
environment so well

- When Gill told the other fishes in the tank not to help Nemo to get out of
the water pipe...

- When Dory asked Marlin why he know they'll be dead if they fall into the whale's gullet...

- When Marlin trusted Nemo, and helped him to rescue all the fishes in the net...
After all those adventures they were making use of what they've learned

What I still found funny and creative...

- The Starfish's need to detach from glass while speaking

- The Cuttlefish leaks ink while scared =P

- The tropical fishes and the pelican Nigel being familized
with all the dental treatment process

- The sea turtles telling Marlin and Dory how to exit the EAC, resembling
the procedure of a standard aircraft approach :)

- How the crab demonstrate his "Kung Fu" in front of the sea birds

- How the dolphins talked discretely while jumping and jumping...

- The "mine...mine...mine..." sea birds... :)

So in my humble opinion er... this movie actually tells us the importance
of the ability to adapt to changes, and to have a mind that thinks flexibly,
optimistically. It also brings to us how great team-work and team-spirit can
work when a group is in good cooperation. Um... they're really good things
to learn.

:)
