Back home...

Ah, it's good to be back. Our family went to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park on Thursday and Friday. Drove around and enjoyed the incredible scenery and the fresh desert air. Have been catching up with friends and eating a ton. It's great to be home.

In our living room there used to be a clock on one of the walls. My mom moved it to the opposite side of the room, completely throwing me off; I guess I never realized how compulsively I looked at it. gilson noticed it too. Things here have changed slightly over the years, including new carpeting, new blinds, new curtains, new kitchen table, new garage door, missing trees, and no back lawn.

...

We spent New Year's Eve having dinner with the Shias (for you 21r folk, that's Wuji and her husband), hanging out with gilson, and playing Cranium with a huge group at Daniel's. Our key contribution: knowing the definition of capon. "Castrated rooster" does not sound as appetizing as what Lee & Lynn have served us on several occasions; everyone else thought we were just plain weird.

Today, lunch with gilson, Joey, and Richard - fried goodness (fries, onion rings, zuccini) at Jim's. Back in the afternoon to help prepare for a New Year's party, where we gorged ourselves yet again.

2005 was an incredible year, but I'm amazed at how quickly it went by. Full of love, happiness, and big life milestones. :) Excited to see what 2006 brings!
