some people just shouldn't teach.

Well, I did NOT do well on that exam I was studying for.

I'm just not sure if I can even get the necessary C in the class. This material is HARD. The class is calculus based, and its been 5 years since I last took calculus. I have a very hard time following both the lecturer and the book.

What's worse is that while studying for the exam I neglected my other classes, so I get to spend this whole weekend catching up. And all for nothing. I gained maybe 20 pts by studying as hard as I did... maybe. I'm I'm lucky, I got a D. grr.

It just doesn't help when the professor introduced brand new material on Wednesday for the exam (Friday), then capped the class off with a 5-8 min review session that took place partly AFTER class is officially over.

I went up to the professor to ask about something else after the class, and he asked me how I did on the exam. I said, "not well" so he decides to look at the exam (which really had nothing to do with what I was asking him about). He flips through it, saying "Not good, not good. Maybe D." Then he started a barrage of questions which were essentially accusations:

"You should know this! Why don't you know this? This is not hard. You should be able to do this. Why didn't you finish this question? Why did you derive this? It should have been on your study sheet!"

When I answered that I didn't finish a question because I couldn't remember how to integrate the function, he told me that I should already know how to do the function (the class does NOT have calculus as a prerequisite).

When I told him that it wasn't on the homework, he said he did it in class (when? 2, 3 weeks ago?).

When I said I didn't have the derivived equation for the mean of a normal distrubution on my study sheet because it was not in the book and I didn't think that it would take long to do (it didn't, but I had to derive it for a 4 pt question he apparently just thought we should know off the top of our heads), he said he had gone over it in class and was in my class notes, so should have been on my study sheet.

Then he told me that I should have known all the 4 pt questions immediately, I shouldn't have had to derive anything at all. My answer was, "well, I didn't know them off the top of my head."

It was truly a horrible discussion. I was tired, I just did terribly on an exam, and the professor was virtually accusing me of not reading his mind (because yeah, that whole 5 min review wednesday REALLY helped me know what was going to be on the test).

Finally I just said "Whatever. I'll just fail the class. I doesn't matter." and turned my back on him and walked out.
