Good to be Home...
So, both of my kids have been sick off and on for the past three weeks. This past Monday, they took a turn for the worse, and were vomiting a lot. So we took a trip in to the ER for IV therapy. They seemed to respond very well to the anti-nausea medicine they were given, so we were given a scrip for each of them and sent home. I was ok with it, they seemed to be acting mostly ok by the end of it.
Tuesday, they were still vomiting off and on, though not as badly because of the anti-nausea meds. They actually seemed much better, enough that I was able to go to class.
By Wednesday, Julian was able to eat a little again. Not much, just baby food bananas mixed with rice cereal powder, chicken noodle soup, stuff like that, but it's still progress. Val, on the other hand, was throwing up everything she ate or drank, even with anti-nausea medicine. She also had developed very severe diarrhea. She was pooping more liquid than the diaper could absorb. Late Wednesday night, I took her in to the ER. She was severely dehydrated. We were finally admitted and in a room at 5AM Thursday morning.
She spent Wednesday night and all of Thursday on an IV. By later Thursday, she was able to keep down liquids, so on Friday morning, they tried her without the IV. She was still restricted to liquids, but she was keeping them down well enough that the doctor said to let her try some soft foods.
Yesterday, she was allowed to have whatever she wanted. She kept it all down, so we finally came home yesterday afternoon.
It is so awesome to be home!!!!
