I wanted to write a sort of flail-reviewy thing about the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde because seriously, he is my favourite author and I am forever trying to get more people to read these books so I have more people to flail with. Only every time I try to explain what the books are about, I completely fail because it's really an impossible endeavour. Should I explain the Literary Detectives? The book-jumping and related book-world? Maybe the fantastic way the series deals with time travel and manipulated memories? Or just the fact that the main character is this totally badass woman named Thursday Next who knows what she wants and will never back down for anything?

Anyway so in an effort to encourage you all to check this out, I found that Amazon has the first few pages of The Eyre Affair (first book in the series): http://www.amazon.com/Eyre-Affair-Thursday-Next-Novel/dp/0142001805

And for anyone I know who has read the series (I know there are a few of you out there, it's just late and I can't recall who at them moment):

asjdlfjaslkdjf to the latest book! I'm going to need to reread the entire series again!

Also I totally have the biggest literary crush on Friday Next as of this book. What is it about pale, dark-haired slightly sarcastic geniuses? Like, there's a large part of me that wants to write a fic in which Friday runs into Edmund Pevensie. And given the BookWorld, that could totally happen, too.
