I just won an award at work for producing the best artistic data visualization. I'm a little embarassed by this, because some of the other entries were really intricate images- fractals,
attractors, and other things which required significant manipulation of their data sets to produce the results. Mine? Not so much so- plot a bunch of ZIP codes on a map, set their size by the last three digits and colour by the last two.
The prize is a shirt with the image on it- and the 'threat' that I may be asked to sign shirts or prints at our upcoming user conference.
