[Guess who's back? Vyse's voice sounds strained and mildly out of breath, but he's forming complete sentences and that's a good sign. There's also the sound of footsteps in the background.]...I'm back. Thought you guys might like to know. I'll be at the village soon, I think... Can't be too far from here. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the clinic.

[Oh, unfamiliar voice. Well, that's fine with Vyse. The more people he hears from, the better.] Yeah, I'm fine. I just need a little check-up, that's all.

Do you need help getting to the clinic? I think I can smell you... [The tinge of nasty medicene stench that always accompanies the kidnapping returnees was fast becoming familiar to Toboe.]

Smell me? I didn't think I smelled that bad... [Sniff sniff. He knows he hasn't showered in a while, because the Malnosso hardly bother with hygiene, but...]

[You might hear a rapid crunching of leaves, then Toboe will burst through the trees to your left, skidding to a stop and smiling when he sees he did find you.] Not really. You just smell like medicene.

[He looks up from his journal at that, eyes widening slightly in surprise. Way to catch him offguard, Toboe. He tries to shake it off pretty quickly, though.] ... Medicine? Really? Must be a pretty bad stench if you could smell it from that far away.

Oh. That's because I'm a wolf. [Sheepish smile? You're the first person he's telling his identity to without reservation. Something he wants to try, at least in Luceti.]

[Vyse looks Toboe up and down, frowning. He's seen stranger things than a wolf in a human body, but he reflexively has to ask.]

... Are you sure? [That question sounds a lot more stupid now that he's actually worded it.]

Mm-hm. [And Vyse gets an odd look for that.]

Is there some sort of experiment going on, or do you always look... human?

[He still vividly remembers the experiment where he was turned into a Huskra for a week. A wolf turning into a human wouldn't be too weird if the Malnosso are involved.]

Oh! This is just an illusion.

But I heard that there was an experiment going on though...

Really? What kind of experiment? It's not something bad, right?

I think there're people seeing and hearing things and people from their world... but all of it isn't real.

Oh... That sounds... [Strangely familiar, actually. Another experiment he vividly remembers is the time everyone was visited by ghosts from back home. Literal ghosts, complete with injuries from when they died.

He makes a bit of a face at that, before placing both hands on his hips and leaning back in a faint attempt to stretch his back. Ow ow ow. He can't wait to lie down.]

Oh! We better get to the clinic soon! [And moves closer so you can use him for support if needed. At the moment, the illusion is solid.]

Oh, yeah. Thanks. I'll try and walk on my own for now. [It's good to know there'll be support if he needs it, though! For now, he'll take his own steps. They're not quite shaky, but it's easy to tell he's moving a bit awkwardly.]
