OOC: The State of Olympus

Hay guys!

Okay. SO. As we are a rather large fandom here - one which has just undergone a pretty huge resurgence in the bar - I thought it might be a good idea to put this up. (And I figure I'll repost it to our plotting comm if/when it gets made.)

A little while ago we had an information-gathering post regarding what's going on with our pups and ( Read more... )

I've been playing it that way, too; Epimetheus goes back to the old country very, very occasionally, to visit the family members that still hang out in that neck of the woods, but he doesn't go back to Olympus proper. He hasn't been there since Herakles freed Prometheus way back when.

I think E has a sense, though, that there are still some of the older gods -- Zeus especially -- at Olympus, or he wouldn't have as much reason to avoid it. That can certainly be a false sense, though. I am flexible and vague.

I figure it's also worth pointing out that the gods may be from different versions of the same world, and we can still account for them all knowing each other. I figure Olympus is not really of one world or another, right? So it's entirely possible that while all the various gods may have been hanging out in the same prehistoric Olympus and Greece, they could have dispersed into several different worlds in the intervening millennia. Possibly? I dunno, but I'm throwing it out there for consideration. :)

Definitely a good idea to consider! Another I think is good that if some gods haven't been back to Olympus in ages, then they might just not know that people are hanging out there again. "Eh? What? Zeus is back?"

True! I rather like that as well.

. . . I'm gonna take a moment to shake my head at how ridiculously fucked up this family and its lines of communication are, now.

Ahaha. The REAL reason everyone left: tired of being gossiped about by all of their brothers, sisters, half-brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, neices, second cousins twice removed...

OH PS. Epimetheus has said that he came to Milliways before Bar was sentient; moreover, I have every intention of bringing him occasionally from various points in the past. My basic assumption is that whenever he comes into the bar from the past, it's been "a while" since he saw any family, but I'm super flexible if anyone wants to play with around with what their pup may have been doing in, say, AD 17. :D

If you're up to it, we should do that thing when E visits the Gorgon girls after going AWOL, y/n?
