uchiha don't age gracefully?

Is there a polite way to tell somebody that their drawing looks very pretty, but completely wrong? I won't say anything at all, I suppose. But let me tell everyone now that it is damned uncomfortable to hold a violin with just your chin and shoulder for any length of time, and you really shouldn't have your thumb over the strings of your bow while you're trying to play. At the very least you will have resin all over your finger.

Sorry, I just needed to get that out! I played violin for only four years, and that itself was about eight years ago, (I feel so old when I say things like that,) but certain things stick with you in life and the proper way to hold a violin and bow is apparently one of them for me.

In ridiculously happy news, not only will I hopefully be seeing Neil Gaiman do a reading in Cleveland a week from now, but in a little under two weeks, my darling JC-aniki will be visiting me! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ We will have a lovely wonderful time and do all sorts of fun things and if she also gets the new KH game, we can do multi-player! Oooh, we can fight each other in my Naruto game on the wii too! I keep intending to make Plans, I should actually write a list at some point.

I have also been busy doodling in a brand new sketchbook which I hope to fill with drawings and notes relating to aniki's wedding present. The most annoying part so far has been one of the main characters who is black - I have difficulty shading the skin so that it looks right. The sketches are all in pencil, so my mom suggested I scribble on another piece of paper, put some lead on my finger, and smudge it across the face to get the impression of darker skin, but I'd already had the rest of the face drawn in and didn't want to mess that up. So I just drew lots of lines and I figure it looks decent enough for a rough sketch.

I also have difficulty adding some age without making the character look ancient. I felt rather silly resorting to that line-under-the-eyes thing that Itachi has going on.

friends, to do today, music, art, violin
