Once more, I'd like to recommend Lightning of the Wave's AU HP fic. Yes, it's incredibly long. Yes, Harry has an OC brother. And yes, the characters make you want to strangle them sometimes. But it's all so good, and the characters tend to come to their senses and become better for it, and Harry's OC brother is much less of a factor in the later stories. The chapters are of a very nice, chapterly length (for a fic), and it updates every single day. It's all just very spectacular.
