Friends! I could use your help on an assignment for class!
In my ED221: Diverse & Exceptional Learner class, we are exploring multiculturalism and how to apply such a philosophy to our future careers as educators. A part of that is examining the concept of white privilege, especially since 90% of K-12 teachers in America are white, whereas the same ratio does not hold true for the students in the classrooms.
For this assignment, we must interview at least 5 white persons. I would appreciate it very much if you could take a few minutes to respond, if you would like to do so.
1. What does the term "white privilege" mean to you?
2. Does "white privilege" matter?
3. If yes, how? If no, why not?
Feel free to send me your responses via PM or private plurk, if you are more comfortable with that. Thank you in advance for your time and thoughtful input!
