When it snows... it floods?

I finally went into work today after a little hiatus due to exams. Normally, I would just book off the whole three weeks or so but because of our new manager, she's kicked in this new rule that if we take more than two weeks off when we're part-time, she ends up firing us for that time and re-hiring us when we return.

Anyone else completely baffled by that logic? But anyway. So I got around that by taking off two weeks - going into work for ONE day - then taking off another two weeks. Sue me. :-)

So I walk into the store and I'm greeted by these signs everywhere saying "We apologize for the inconvenience while we clean up from a pipe accident."

I find out later that Sunday night a water pipe had... well, exploded, for lack of better word, putting a damper (hee hee, I'm just rolling with the punches) on the evening since basically everything on the floor in the vicinity had to be cleaned up. It ended up flooding around a quarter of the store a good couple inches.

Fun times. It didn't help that customers were tracking in snow encrusted with salt so we ended up with these white chalk-ish marks all over the store.

Times like these make me want to hasten my departure from the store.
