This is crazy. I'm free. I've officially finished writing all eight (8!) of my exams this last week and I've got a soul I can call my own again.
A soul which is infinitely wiser, just for the record.
And so to celebrate, I arrived at home today with a stackful of books I've been waiting to read for the last year (which I couldn't, due to the thick stack of textbooks that're apparently obligatory reading to um, pass school) including Douglas Coupland and Chuck Pahlukni-something-or-other-whose-name-I-can-never-spell. Yeah you know. That guy. Oh, and this really interesting looking book, the Dante Club. Not sure if it's modeled after the DaVinci Code or not, but I guess I'll be finding out. *squee of relief at finishing*
Wow. This feels so weird!
In other happy news, I've been nominated as valedictorian for the 2004 year. So this means come October I get to stand up and make a cutesy little 15-minute speech on how we were the best class that ever graced the doors of our school and every student will be smiling and pretending they're listening to what I'm saying. Now THAT is pretty damn cool!
And in another attempt to procrastinate somewhere between the horror called calculus *insert delicate shudder here* and chemistry exam, I made a quick reference to all of my
favourite ficcys - well, honestly, I've only gotten as far as the AU ones and I'm still amassing my list. If you've got recs, please let me know and read so hopefully they'll make it onto the list. And then I added some more
icons that I had made in the past. I'm honestly just itching to make some new ones with these really cute caps I found of DB a while ago.
... if only I knew where I saved them on my hard drive... (no, not THOSE kinds of pictures, you pervert!)
And DUH - I still need to scan and post my prom pictures. *happy giggles around*
By the way - artist to look out for in the future. Delta Goodrem. Yep. Mark my words, she'll probably be hitting your radio airwaves soon (or whatever the radio-speak equivalent is) because she is pretty awesome. I first heard of her when Darren Hayes covered her song in a live concert, and now I bought her CD. Great music. Okay - a little more poppy than my usual tastes, but see? That's how cool she is! (Try dloading 'Lost Without You' - and failing to get the original version, get ahold of Darren's version
here. I confess I love Australian guys.
And as for all my wonderful LJ friends - better watch out because I'm paying each and every single one of you a visit very VERY soon. Be afraid. Amelia's happy again, and everyone will suffer because of it :-)
