Z-Ski hit his official 6-month birthday last week. So far he has played with/dropped/consumed:
Banana: I just give him a half chunk to gum away at. He likes this very much.
Sweet potato: Baked for 1 hour in the oven & then sliced into "chips" or rounds. After a few gags, he has taken to this quite well.
Yellow squash: Steamed coins. He didn't flinch at this. Shoved the whole coin in his mouth & I think some actually got consumed.
Broccoli: Steamed in the microwave. I think he was just too overtired from his day to tolerate much of anything. But this did not go over well. Will try again tomorrow, probably.
Pear: Skin peeled off & cut into "chips." He likes!
Carrots: Baby-cut & steamed in the microwave. Not as thrilled with these as he was when I used to give them to him raw. But I will be trying again.
Steel-cut oatmeal: I put it in a plastic bowl & give him his baby spoon. The baby spoon currently serves as an appetizer, followed by a fistful of oatmeal. This is fun to watch.
Watermelon: Cut into triangles with the rind. This one is for pure entertainment value. We had such a ball watching him eat this.
