Zach rolled from back to front last week. He's now working on doing it from both sides. I noticed that, while in his jumperoo, he no longer needed the book to stand on to reach the ground. In two weeks, he's grown enough to reach the floor without it.
And he is trading all this growth, for sleep.
S & I stopped letting him c/i/o. We couldn't bear it & although Zach was sleeping much better in the night & taking naps, the crying right before bedtime never got better.
Now, since tending to his every squeak, he has taken to foregoing naps altogether & last night he woke up every two hours.
I know this is a growth spurt, but it's wreaking havoc on my brain.
Yes, we mostly practice an attachment style of parenting, but I had to stop to question: At what point does the attachment become more for the parents than for the child? Because WE couldn't bear to let Zach cry, we started running to him. Now he's not sleeping again. That CAN'T be good for him.
We want so badly to do what's right for him, but we are completely clueless. All we know is we feel hella guilty for even trying to allow him to cry. What can we say - we've completely lost our minds.
