*he notices a draft he hadn't felt before, reaches up the adjust his hat, and-- panics*

Hey! *spinning around to face an empty street* Who's there?

*gurgles, delighted with Osric's reaction* I am!

Who are you? *looks like he might cry* Give it back!

[wonderfulboy]

I'm Peter Pan! *dangles the hat in front of Osric's eyes, then yanks it away again*

Who's that? *reaches for the hat, even though it's already gone* Go away.

The most wonderful boy in the whole world, silly! *drops the hat from about five feet above Osric's head - he's aiming for the head, but if it falls anywhere else, he'll say that's what he was aiming for*

I've never heard of you. *it'll probably have fallen somewhere to one side of Osric--and now it's on the ground, so he'll swoop down and snatch it up, brushing off the dirt* You'll ruin it if you do that!

[wonderfulboy]

Well, now you have! *sits down in front of Osric's face* What's wrong with dirt, huh?

It's-- um. Dirty. *is rather grubby himself, remember* And the hat's good.

[wonderfulboy]

*makes a face* It's just a stupid hat.

[winestains]

Don't say that. *clutching it to his chest* It's fancy and it's mine. I found it.

[wonderfulboy]

*blows a raspberry* It is. It's a grown-up hat.
