It might be the pachouli getting amped on you. I know that my body amps any pachouli notes and makes me smell like a hippy head shop, so they might turn into soap on you. I dunno. I have a BPAL sample of Vixen that I can let you try:

I really, really wanted it to work because I love orange blossom and ginger. Vixen smells great on me for about 15 mins, then I amp the patchouli and everything else disappears. 'tis sad. :-(

It's possible...but I've tried 4 scents thus far. At some point, they all smell like soap. She's using some form of coconut oil as a base. I use it a ton in the bathroom, but I don't really think it smells soapy. Hmmm. Just a little odd.
