Well, I voted! That sounds almost boring. However, as I am disabled and use a wheelchair, it was in no way boring. I sent an email about two weeks to my local local representative chapter and bless them, I got an email within an hour. And...wait for it...I was told that a Cab Plus van would take me to my polling place. FOR FREE! Yea team! And for my sins, I agreed to be interviewed briefly (with photo op! as well in the local Sentinel paper. Seriously, it was almost painless. Of course as this was my first time to vote in Montgomery County, Maryland, they had not listed my address correctly on the voter register. Sigh. However since I am a firm believer in Murphy's Law, I brought my voter's registration card And my ID card to verify my address (which was correct on both cards! which amazed the voting judge who just shook his head in sorrow. Anyway it took about a half an hour with all the fuss and then back home where the van drove up over the curb so the ramp from the back would deposit me on the sidewalk and not on the grass. I love that van and the driver was wonderful.
I read other people's journal entries and wish I had something interesting to report. So I have done my duty and expressed my opinion! Yah, me. Please vote people. We are so fortunate to be able to do so without danger or threat, use that freedom!
