I feel bad for ppl who can't take a break during the Easter Holidays... (Just so unfair). Seriously, try and find ways to chill out. Take a moment (10 - 15 minutes) to do some stretching exercises to loosen your neck and shoulders before getting back to work. =3
Actually if the face was smaller, it would look about right with the rest of her body. You handle markers far better than I do! XDD (Hmm... jelly bean stars~! XD~) Scanners always butcher any art that's colored with markers, imo.
I'm bad with watercolors. Would love to produce something lovely with the medium but it always come out looking mucky. T_T But you can try some techniques with it like sprinkling salt to make this sort of dyed/burned bleach effect. =3
O.O Neat concept of graduating from a nightmare. I ended up thinking of Please Save My Earth, though Alien (they look human to me, but they're considered aliens with ESP) reincarnate into human on Earth.
Cooking Mama 2 is like the expansion of the first game really. But I'm happy that there some desserts in their food line up! =3
Actually, I'm practicing longer faces for more mature looks. I think I'm sort of over doing it and then I realised making the neck wider would help me make the shoulders and body broader. The stars? I used some random fine-tip pens to draw the outline and then colour XD I still think I need more practice with the markers (Ad then you're better than me at CG 8D)
My supervisor makes watercolour look so easy, the seller at the art store said it's one of thee most hardest mediums to use x_X
Mizushiro Setona always have brilliant plots. I remember listing one of her plots, did you ever see it? This was my first thought about the after school in the infirmary (After school Nightmare is the English liscense title) http://windyhurrice.livejournal.com/170128.html And here is one of her BL works, her version of the little mermaid: http://windyhurrice.livejournal.com/200391.html All I can say is that her works gives you great impact and you'll feel very sad, don't mind her artwork, but she's brilliant at illustrating her storyline.
Cooking Mama! XD I agree, I love making the sweeties ahaha! Strawberry rolls and cake, I love how they make their pixel art ^^
I think I'm sort of over doing it and then I realized making the neck wider would help me make the shoulders and body broader. Whatever helps. Just so long as everything look right and in proportion in your eyes. =3
lol! Ah, I've been glue too much with CGing. Must experiment more!
I'm up for a good story! =D I need to bookmark these links and check them out later! Thankies! *^^*
Yes! It's more fun with more variety of food! X3 I always adore pixel art in games.
True, problem is that your own eyes could be deceiving from time to time ^^;;
They're not gonna run anywhere, it's under the 'Mizushiro Setona' tag in my lj if you forget =)
It's actually amazing that 2D pixel art still survives within this age. I always thought if the 3D world took over what's gonna happen to the fun 2D pixel? ^^;;
Well, they say you could download 2D pixel games on the Wii (Not for free I think XD) It's good, people that played in the pass would love to play them again and the new people would have a try at it. I dislike the way that everyone's going for 3D, it's probably more like towards the reality but they're losing the touch of creativity here. I don't mind 3D that much, it's just that if everything looks realistic then there's no more room for other kinds of art.
Yep! Virtual console can download the classic games of yester-year and you do need to pay for them. I dunno about making things more realistic. It can be breathtakingly amazing but where's the charm? ;o;
It's hard to explain, it's like the more realistic things are, it feels like we're losing the touch of more vibrant colours and techniques of graphics and such.
When was the last time I have seen a 2D animation from Disney? The ones I remember every year are Pixar, Dreamworks, 20th Centuray Fox etc etc. It's like a trend or what's in fashion, it feels like there's lack of originality and creativity. Whenever we see something that moves slow, we automatically think of Matrix (Though us chinese people have been using that technique for ages before Matrix, Matrix just adapted from them but they are the ones to show it well to the public) Or if there are armies from a fantasy war, take narnia for example, I automaticlaly think of Lord of the Rings. I don't mean the influence is bad, just that it doesn't look original when it's performed, that's all. ((Actually, I'm talking nonsense here and dunno what I wanna say 8D))
Mario Galaxy is an acception. Though when I think about 3D games I mostly think about online first person shooters. ^^;
Yeah, I can see what you're saying. Things that are ground breakingly popular are bound to inspire a lot of things after. I've seen so many of those Matrix slow-mo 360 sfx in commericals that it really does become irriating.

Right. I shall take note of that.
I'm hoping that 2D pixel games don't dies out in future. And if so they'd probably be downloadable in next gen consoles.
