Brave New World

I'm alive! Not that anyone still reads this, but hey...

In other news, I won NanoWriMo last November (after attempting and getting to 38k the time before - the last time I posted here). Well, I sort of cheated since I carried on my story from last time, but it was 50k original new words of it, so I think that counts.

I've just handed my notice in, and from August will be going self employed. Considering the current financial climate, it seemed like a sensible choice ;) No, really, I've just about had all I can take of over two years of being a glorified PA for classical musicians. I know far too much about booking hotels, flights and getting visas, and it's time to get out. A friend of mine is leaving the UK with her family to go back home, and I'm going to be taking over some of her cello teaching. That gives me a good base, and as well as that I'm planning on selling card designs to publishers, joining a film extras agency and finishing my book.

I decided that I can't sit around and wait for my perfect life to magically appear. It's scary, and it's a massive change, but I'd be cowardly idiot not to take this opportunity. There's no way I want to sit in an office all my life...
