Highlights of the past few days: playing one-on-one basketball whilst tipsy against Jamie Sidler (and winning), going to McDonalds, getting two new books, and having Michael and Sara come to Killingworth. Lust still tugs at my heartstrings whenever a Jeep drives by.
All I listen to is "American Boy". I cannot get enough of this song. It is my official jam.
I went dorm shopping yesterday. My color scheme is chocolate brown and white. I am very dedicated to it - I got a dark brown wicker laundry hamper. And brown zebra print pillows. And brown towels. And a brown make-up mirror. And other brown things! I also bought THE BEST PILLOWS EVER. I may never leave my bed... they are the most epic pillows I have experienced in my life thus far.
ALSO!: I was proactive! I contacted the editor-in-chief of The Phoenix and she was really happy to hear from me and was psyched because (YAY!) they need lots of people for the Living & Arts section. Which is... my ideal section.
I need to leave Killingworth. I need to get away from this social scene, I need to get away from my family, I need to get away from familiarity. I'm feeling a very awkward mix of emotions, but the primary sensation is that of claustrophobia. Of course, I'm also terrified and sad. I'm the first of my girl friends to leave... we're going to be basketcases.
I want to buy all brand new make up and toiletries.
And... I'm going on a mini-vacation to Maine and Vermont with my family from the 16th to the 21st. It's kind of unfortunate timing - I want to be spending that time with people before I leave. BUT, I'm also really looking forward to it. I'll be able to read a lot. And collect my thoughts and such. And we're going to visit my cousins, etc. on Peaks Island and that is one of the most gorgeous places on Earth.
I want to live in Paris, Peaks Island, Cambridge, New York City and... I'd like to eventually end up somewhere hoity-toity in Connecticut, like Essex. I had best get to work on that best-selling novel. LOL!
