Blood Type: B

Height: 5’
Weight: ~110lbs

Birthplace: Italy
Nationality: Very mixed, but a Japanese citizen

Family History: From what we can find, the Gears were a wealthy family, traveling to a different country every year. Sarah herself, was born in Italy, and by the age of five, they had detoured to Japan. After the accident, the girl became the property of Japan without a legal guardian. No extended family was ever found, and there was little information on her parents themselves. Even now, we’re not quite sure where she originated, or what exactly are the roots of the family's true nationality.

Life History: Sarah had a relatively normal life until the age of five--during which her parents were died in a car accident. Sarah, in the back seat, survived. After that, she was fostered to families, and shuffled around quite a bit--for some reason, not finding one to stick with. There were reports of abuse in a few, but never any substantial evidence. At sixteen, she was fostered with a traditional family, and became completely interested in the aspect of shinigami, or death gods, in the older religions. She continued to research them in great detail along with a group of friends, and her foster parents even reported “role playing” games which involved the group dressing up and acting like the so-called death gods--fighting imaginary monsters and sending people to the next life. It seemed harmless until the incident happened. Apparently, the teens took the shinigami game a little too seriously, and agreed on a pact of joint suicide/sacrifice, so they could become actual death gods. When the teens were found, the bodies were carved in a ritualistic manner, and there were few survivors--Sarah, shell-shocked and bloody, and tied to a pole in the center, being one of them. The girl was never able to tell the exact details of what had happened.

Medical History: No major injuries were reported in Sarah’s history other than mild injuries sustained in childhood. The incident, itself, was a worrisome event, as the girl was covered in cuts and lacerations, some of them requiring grievous internal stitching. As the girl in seemingly unable to talk about this event, we cannot determine the extent and origin of these injuries. During her treatment, the doctors noted that Sarah had somehow become “Senna,” a much more upbeat version of Sarah Gear and an “actual” shinigami--her character from the game she had played. This, however, was not the extent of the delusions she had gained from the tragedy--from time to time, the Senna personality would be replaced with a random other, this lasting for brief minutes at a time. An on hand psychologist kept a record of these encounters (see pgs 8-11), and through communicating with her foster parents, we have learned that these “alternates,” for lack of a better term, were based on her friends that participated in the incident, as well as her previous families. She seems to think these memories are now all that she is made of; possibly a gentle contrast to the truth of that day.

Current Status: Sarah has recently made a decent group of friends, and seems to be a good influence on some of the less willing ones. If she keeps her pranks to a minimum, her helpfulness seems to be pointing her in the right direction, if it is genuine.

Working Diagnosis: In addition to the supposed multiple personalities that she was originally diagnosised with, from Sarah's time here, we would have to lean towards acute antisocial disorder with sociopathic leanings. It's possible that she understands the "memories" are false and uses them to shift attention from her severe depression and breaks with reality. This is further fortified by the times in which she will reasonably agree to the nurses to achieve time to herself and her friends, and instantly ignore them and whatever she had said a moment later once she has got what she wanted. This will have to be watched further to conclude if this is the correct analysis, currently we do not have enough information.

Character: Senna
"Real" Name: Sarah Gear
"Real Life" Personality: Sarah's a lot less genuine than Senna; she's a bit conniving, and her cheeriness is more false and contrived, something created to keep the peace or get what she wants. She's severely depressed, but likes to distract herself from it--ie, through random games or long conversations. In contrast to Senna's mellowness, Sarah gets irritated quickly, but tries to hide it, playing that she's someone who's completely tolerant, so she can someone that can be easily liked. As well, she's more judgmental and less caring--except to those who have gained that care.

Feelings Toward Canon Life: Senna and her life, is what Sarah wanted to be. She created Senna through a role playing game and took on her personality and background as her own. Sarah sees herself as someone completely bland and boring, and becoming Senna made her unique and exciting. It's something she really, really wants to be true, even though sometimes, she recognizes that she's fooling herself. She would rather try for fantasy than succumb to reality, in any case.

Feelings Toward Fellow Patients: Sarah doesn't feel much of a connection to most of them. She joined a club because someone she knew of was in it, and she thought it was a good way to make connections and get noticed. The people she joined for didn't take much of a interest, and some got realized, but she did end up making some friends regardless. Meche and Soma are people she sincerely likes and feels a strong connection with, and Falis and Hokuto are people she's grateful for, who know the most about her, limited as that is, and accept her anyway. Hana would probably stay the same as he is now with Senna->Sarah's different mindset. She would still want to hang around him and get him out of his shell since he's someone that she likes, but she'd be sorta irritated the more closed he is, though she'd try to hide it. The guy friends she's made--Peter and Reid, mostly--she holds as super fun guys, and is more lenient with them then the others.
