I'm in the market for new music. See, when the ex moved out, he took about 80% of our cd's. Not that I really miss them all that much, as pretty much all of them had been downloaded onto iTunes, so I still have the songs themselves, even though the cd shelf is looking pretty barren these days. Anyway, I've been thinking about which ones I'm going to replace and it occurs to me that most of our collection was made up of stuff that he'd chosen. And wasn't necessarily anything I liked all that much. I did (and still do!) love the Nine Inch Nails, the Dead Can Dance and the Zombie, but over the last few years he'd been delving into the uber-dark Euro-goth music-to-slit-your-wrists by. I like the black eyeliner as much as the next kid who adored Martin Gore in high school, but I just can't listen to huge chunks of my iTunes library anymore because it reminds me of the ex; not in the sweet nostalgic way, but in the 'oh, God - he used to have that playing when he wanted to fuck, icky-icky-ew!' way.
*ahem*
Anyway. If you have music that you're currently in love with and in the mood to pimp to someone, put on the purple faux-fur hat and pimp away! :D I was in high school way back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth and MTV played music videos, so I tend to like 80's-era goth, alternative, punk, British pop and ska; but I also dig on 60's-era surf music, 60's-era British Invasion, lounge, Sinatra, current alternative, J-rock, classical...I'm pretty flexible, actually. So, yeah. What'cha got?
