I know that the prompt was Parent And Child, but hey, in a roughly translated world, that technically makes the prompt family, right? Right! Enjoy!

Summary: When Kid is away, who is there to keep Liz and Patti from breaking away completely?
Liz hadn't been out of bed for days.
It was starting to worry Patti, and then the rest of their little circle of close knit friends that they had so carefully formed and kept and cultivated until finally the elder girls felt like they can tell their youngers anything.
So the fact that Liz was laying in Kid's bed and not saying a word to anyone was not the way that it should go.
She had been getting tired a lot. Black Star had been the first one to note it out loud, bouncing Angela on his knee while Tsubaki made dinner for the three of them. Tsubaki had thought that maybe Liz was just starting to feel the effects of Kid being gone for months.
Maka and Soul's resonance hadn't been working quite right for a while, until they finally decided to pay the sisters a visit, and much to their disappointment, Liz hadn't come out at that point. They went in and chatted with her for a while, noting the emptiness in her voice, and dammit, wishing that they could do more.
When they left, Soul and Maka made a promise to each other that Kid would be returned at all costs.
Patti's garden had changed its mood, as well. What once held daffodils and morning glories held chrysanthemums and forget-me-nots. It didn't take Stein to see that soon, Liz's depression will seep into her sister, and it was not going to be okay. They weren't going to be okay at all.
No, it was obvious to the others.
Soul told Maka about a ballad by the name of Landslide by some guy named Stevie Nicks. They sat and listened together until Maka teared up and leaned against her weapon.
"Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'cause I built my life around you..."
And it hurt to know that was how Liz and Patti felt.
Liz, Patti, and Kid. They were, in their own way, like a quiet little family. Liz was the tender and supportive one. Patti was the affectionate, happy one. Kid had been the rock of stability, reminding them that it was alright, he was always going to be there for them both. He managed to make Liz feel safe. He made Patti's mood swings calm until she was nothing but a little puddle of happy.
And now that he was gone, Liz's hopes of seeing Kid again were dying and Patti's insistance that he would come back safe were joining them. Noah was tearing apart a family and breaking down the pieces.
They had to get Kid back.
