Revenge of the Babysat...

Dec 20, 2008 12:01

Last night I babysat a young girl, probably about four years old; and her older sister, who's in fifth grade. Not an hour after my parents had left, the younger kid threw up. Luckily on the hardwood floor. Yes, I cleaned it up. Was I particularly happy about it? No. Did I breathe through my nose at all while doing so? No. Thank God for blocked sinuses. I also sprayed Febreeze over the spot where the mess had been, and over the next hour it soaked into the floor.

So now I understand what Mom went through whenever she had to clean up cat, dog, or child vomit. That doesn't mean I'll be volunteering to mop up, though.

Yesterday was also the last day of school before winter vacation. A lot of schools freaked about the coming 'blizzard' and closed. However, my school held out long enough for a half-day. The decision that the day would be halved was announced over the loud-speaker during my second period study hall. I was sliiiightly preoccupied by a friend of mine, who was drawing anatomically correct snowmen. We ended up going to the math room to watch The Incedibles for a while. I got to sit in front of my crush~ X] After that, there was a meeting just for eighth-graders about the upcoming Eighth Grade Trip. I CANNOT WAIT!!! We'll be staying at a hotel over night, and we get to pick four roommates. One of the teachers accidentally said "You can chose who you'll be sleeping with," and this cracked everyone up. As expected, one kid asked if their roommates could be of the opposite gender. Of course, the answer was no.

Without that blizzard, my school day would have been depressingly normal-- we even had a test in social studies!! XP But overall it was a good day. =] I was already missing my friends on the way home on the bus... we're planning on having a Christmas get-together sometime in the upcoming weeks.

HOORAY FOR SNOW~!!!!!

winter vacation, babysitting, friday, blizzard, vomit, snow, happy
