Omigod, the Sarah McLachlan concert was beyond fabulous. Just ... marvellous. And 5 encores, including a sing-along of Ice Cream, punching the line "it's a long way back to where you started from".
And a raw, driving rocking version of Fumbling Toward Ecstasy, and an aching one of Fallen, with Sarah alone with a guitar at centre stage ... and a poignant rendition of I Will Remember You that had tears starting in my eyes.
The music was at times painful, joyous, rocking, plaintive, longing, defiant ... it was amazing. The band and backup singer were perfect. And Sarah, back in the city where she grew up for the first time in over a decade, radiating back the adoration of the hometown crowd.
Wow. Just ... wow.
