I KNOW, RIGHT? Look, I know how criminal investigations work. I get that things like bank and credit card information can be key to prosecuting a case and putting the creepers of the world behind bars where they belong. But what the HELL happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Due process? ANY OF THIS RINGING A BELL, CONGRESS?

It scares me that this can even get this far in the process because, seriously. Talk about a violation of our rights. This sounds EXACTLY like unreasonable search and seizure to me and damn if I don't remember something about that in my government classes. Something about the Bill of Rights or something? IDK, maybe I'm talking out my ass.

No, wait, that's Congress.

I'm really serious too about looking into Lamar Smith. Guy's way too fixated on this shit. Maybe he's just passionate about... I actually can't finish that sentence. Because there isn't a common motive, only a common end goal: stripping the rights of American citizens of their privacy and freedom. And the fact that he's in a position of power-not just a Congressional Representative but as a the chair of several committees--including the House Judiciary Committee. Makes me want to go to Washington and stand on the steps of Congress with a poster and see if I can get a protest going.

I'm right there with you. I used vast quantities of my sailor vocabulary when I first read about this. I had to double check it wasn't some kind of out of season April Fool's joke.

Oh don't even get me STARTED on the Patriot Act. Patriots my ASS. The patriots that founded this company would be APPALLED at what our lawmakers are doing today. These are all EXACTLY what they were trying to avoid, in fact, and that makes me cry.

YES. PLEASE. Link, copypasta, whatever you want to do. PASS THIS ON AND BOOST THIS SIGNAL LIKE WHOAS. We have time before it goes to a vote and we need to use every second to get the word out and make sure our "representatives" know that this is NOT what we want. <3
