Every day I am getting better! Friday I was so tired I was glad to hear that we were not doing much. We went to dinner and then to the waterfront. We drove by to see the largest standing Buddha in the world but unfortunately by the time we drove by it they had shut the lights off.
I had taken a nap in the afternoon so at least I was good to go in the evening. It was really nice. RK took us to the waterfront and dinner. I have to say though - as much as I LOVE indian food...and I really do....I think I need a change ;> 8 days straight and I would kill for a salad. *chuckle*
Saturday ended up being a lazy day. Linda had a migraine and I was still really tired so we read and lazed. RK came and he and I went to dinner but we were both feeling sluggish so he just took me home and I went to bed. Apparently the world cricket match is on and it is India vs. Sri Lanka. There was a big game on last night so we watched while we had dinner.
Today Linda is feeling better. I finally felt good enough to go use the gym and that was great! A week of barely moving was getting to me. So now I am showered, pics are uploaded and I am posting. Once I am done with that I am going to try to get motivated and do some work for a few hours. I am not sure what tonight will bring but it may be a quiet night. EM has gone to Anju's wedding and we are hesitant to do any big tourist things that our hosts will then have to repeat once she gets back. Right now the plan is to take Tuesday off as a tourist day - rent a van and then go see as much as humanly possible (hence my need to motivate and get some serious work done today).
The golden handcuffs we are experiencing is beginning to chafe. What I mean is that they are treating us like gold here but like the bird in the gilded cage we are not allowed to go anywhere alone or do anything without escort. "There is no point in extra risk" as RK tells me. The way that I usually travel is very independent but I feel like if I go off in a Rickshaw to go downtown without asking him to take me that I am snubbing his extraordinary hospitality - which I simply cannot do. So I will work when he is not here and I think that today I will tell him to stay home. He lives an hour outside the city and has been driving in every day for 8 days straight - the man needs a break. That and I could use a night off of Indian food - it is great but a little heavy.
I am still loving it here and it is hard to believe that that in 10 days we will be heading to Delhi and that will be the last chapter of our time here. 10 days is still enough to see things and experience. I feel like I need to step up the work productivity since I was down and out for so many days.
So off I go to attempt to get some work done! Go check out the pics and I hope all is well with you out there! I hope you are not too buried in snow! Someone post a picture from home so I get a feel for what is going on over there!
*HUGS*
