Kindle Fire? Nook?

Anyone have one of these? Is it worth it?

I am curious about getting an e-reader/tablet and will be working commissions to earn enough money. (will be awhile yet) but I am just wondering if this is a good option... yes/no? Or taking suggestions for good, versatile tablets.
