What are the A+ books in your list?
I used to read a lot of (may or may be sensible) fiction when I was in highschool. The monthly P500 allowance I receive from the government was usually spent on books. I don't favor any particular genre and I enjoy trying different authors as much as possible. This habit gradually seemed to disappear just as I entered college and I can blame it on either of these two very different causes: a) Umberto Eco's
Foucault's Pendulum might have fried my brain and left it traumatized, or b) I might have had a strangely screwed up way of adjusting from highschool to college (<--suspicious).
I'm trying to revive this old habit and I know starting off from where I left then (Eco) would be a very bad idea so I wandered far from that mindfuck of a book (I wish I bought In the Name of the Rose instead) and landed on familiar grounds, Gaarder. What I've read wasn't purely fiction though, or is actually debatable. Then I tried a new author. Then another new author. I hope this goes on. YAY!! (Also, notice the birth of a new tag LOL) XD
MMM BOOKS:
-
Vita Brevis (A Letter to St Augustine) by Jostein Gaarder
-
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
-
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood
Books are so expensive nowadays! =_= I bought Vita Brevis and The Blind Assassin on bargain THANK GOD FOR BOOKSALE then The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nigh-time, lol vry vry long title inorite, I read online. And it's rly rly awesome. A++ :D!
READ IT HERE. Piracy much!? YARRR.
I downloaded
an epic must read list (thanks
docuventaries! :3) aaaaaaand it's kinda frustrating that I cannot even barely reach 1% yet LOL MAYBE MY TASTE IN BOOKS SUCKS LOL LOL. But. What's more frustrating is the fact that
SOPHIE'S WORLD IS NOT LISTED THERE!!! T_T WHYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?? I like it since I was 14...enough to declare that it might be my favorite book. Besides, philosophy professors require their students to read it in their class so it should be a 'must read'. LOL. Well of course I know people have biases but... Oh well, I'm letting that epic list influence me anyway XDD
Hmm. I'll also let you guys influence me :D! So again, what are the A+ books in your list?
