The Dark!
It's January.
This month is always so cold and dark. Not dark in a sinister way, but dark with regard to the nighttime sky. In December we spent most of the month walking or driving down streets filled with holiday decoration on homes, stores and street lamps. Those lights are removed in January and the night seems extraordinarily dark and ominous.
