pearlfuchsia declared december as sooseop month, followed by me sitting down and wanting to prove that yes indeed, december is sooseop month. except i was too busy to actually write a lot, so i only wrote one drabble which sucked. i started over and somehow i decided to write au!sooseop, where they appeared in the series/movie i was watching. so here you go.

in which kiseop will never join an acapella group
glee is not his thing, okay. he doesn't like to get together with a group of people and sing songs. acapella. seriously, not his thing. besides, he isn't even in high school anymore, people in college are too old for that kind of stuff.
so there's really no explanation why he's watching the treblemakers from behind a tree. because he's not having thoughts about joining them.
“they're amazing, aren't they?”
kiseop doesn't shriek or flail at all, he just turns around and eyes the guy behind him. “what?”
“the treblemakers,” the guy says, pointing at the group of boys.
“i guess.” right then they are starting to hum and beatbox and making sounds and somehow kiseop can hear the beginning of i believe i can fly and wow, that is pretty amazing. he's not going to admit that though. “it's just a bunch of guys singing.”
the guy to his left looks at him, as if scandalized by that sentence. “it's just - it's not just singing! it's making music without using any instruments, it's making all the right sounds with just their mouths. it's a miracle.”
“okay,” kiseop takes a step back and points in the general direction of the other stands. “i should go. check some other clubs out.”
“wait, you're not planning on joining them? then why are you standing behind a tree, spying on them? you're not part of some other acapella group, are you? i swear, the treblemakers are the best so even if you are a spy they would still beat your group. i'll have you know that-”
“i'm not,” kiseop interrupts, smiling awkwardly. “i'm just - i was curious, but i realized it's not for me, so i'm just going to find another club.”
the guy raises an eyebrow, before grinning. “okay. you go do that and when you've realized that nothing is better than joining the treblemakers, i'll be there to guide you through the audition.”
“i don't think-”
“just come find me, i'm in block 4b. search for soohyun.”
kiseop blinks. “i - okay.” he's so not going to audition, but if this thought will keep the boy satisfied …
soohyun waves, before stepping out from behind the trees, walking over to the treblemakers. the boys greet him enthusiastically, patting him on the back as they move around him so he can stand in the middle. after a couple of seconds the beginning of another song starts and kiseop scoffs. of course, the guy was part of -
for a moment he's speechless, the deep voice sending a shiver through this body. soohyun briefly looks into his direction and kiseop abruptly turns around, forcing himself to walk over to the other stands.
he doesn't even bother talking to the people behind the stands, he just grabs some folders and forms and pushes them in his bag without reading them. it's just so he can pretend to keep his options open, before walking back the way he came from.
grabbing the folder in front of the treblemakers, he avoids looking at soohyun as he writes his name down on the form.
this is so not his thing though. really.
but still i am a little in love with you

soohyun is just offering to help
“i don't need your help.” kiseop makes sure his shoulder slams into soohyun's arm hard as he moves past him. he gathers the dirty plates from the table which the kids have left behind, wiping the table free of any left crumbs before turning back to see soohyun watching him with a grin on his face. “what?” he snarls.
soohyun lets out a soft laugh. “is it really that hard to accept my money? i have enough of it, it's really not that big of-”
“oh, really?” kiseop slams the plates down in the sink. “you make enough money, so you can help the poor people?”
“what? kiseop, that's not what i meant!” soohyun slides closer, wrapping his arms around kiseop's waist. “i know you don't need my help, i know you've been dealing with this situation for years now, succesfully. but i can make it easier. i want to help you. not because you need it, but because i want to.”
kiseop leans his head back, resting it on soohyun's shoulder as he lets out a deep sigh. “no.”
“let me at least-”
“no.”
soohyun groans, biting kiseop's neck softly. “you're so stubborn.”
“says the one who doesn't take no for an answer.”
“i want to help.”
“go help someone else.”
turning kiseop around, soohyun leans closer until their foreheads bump together. “i don't want to. i just want to support you.”
“you're my boyfriend, not my husband.”
“we could-” at kiseop's glare, soohyun shuts up. “okay, too soon for that talk. just - if that is what it takes to make you realize i'm serious and i'm not going to leave you like everyone else did...i'll do it.”
kiseop opens and closes his mouths a couple of times, then shakes his head. “bringing my parents into this is a low blow. and you're overly confident that my answer is going to be yes.”
“it's not?”
soohyun actually looks hurt at that and it makes kiseop want to lean in and kiss him until all the worries and doubt have faded away. but he has learned not to trust anyone, except family and close friends, and soohyun doesn't fall under that category just yet. “it's not.”
that makes soohyun take a step back, eyebrows moving into a frown. “oh.”
a shriek from outside interrupts the awkward silence and kiseop looks out the window to see jaeseop and hoonmin hovering over dongho, who's holding his knee which seems to be bleeding. kiseop rolls his eyes and opens the window.
“get your brother inside right now. and then you better run away fast, because if i find out you have anything to do with this you're on cleaning duty all week.”
after thirty seconds the three boys burst into the house, jaeseop and hoonmin supporting dongho, only stopping to put him down on a chair and then they storm out of the house. kiseop grumbles pulling the first-aid kit out from under the cabinet.
“this is the third time this week, i'm running out of band aids here,” he mumbles under his breath.
“sorry,” dongho says, looking up at kiseop with a pout.
“seeing as your brothers ran away immediately, it's not your fault. come here, let's get you cleaned up. we can't afford for you to get an infection.”
kiseop opens the first-aid kit to find it filled with new supplies. “what...who bought new stuff? i thought no one had money left after we paid the phone bill.” dongho just shrugs, wincing as kiseop cleans the wound on his knee. as dongho stumbles of the chair a couple of minutes later, kiseop turns to soohyun. “you totally bought the stuff, didn't you?”
soohyun gives him a small smile. “you won't let me help in any other way.”
rolling his eyes, kiseop steps closer to press a kiss to soohyun's cheek. “the answer is no for now. it might change if you're still here in the long run.”
“i will be,” soohyun says, leaning in for another kiss. “i will always be here.”
it's a kind of magic
g | 595 words | merlin!au (soohyun as arthur, kiseop as merlin)
destiny or not, his secret wasn't meant to be revealed
“you're a sorcerer!” soohyun huffs indignantly. “you do know i have to kill you now?”
kiseop just rolls his eyes as he pulls soohyun along, muttering a spell to avoid a fireball hitting soohyun. when the dragon told him he was destined to meet soohyun, he had hoped it would all be a big fat lie, because he had no intention to stay around the arrogant prince. but then soohyun seemed to get in trouble all the time and kiseop couldn't find it in himself to stay away.
“one would think you'd be a little more grateful for saving your life. for the hundredth time.”
“i am not grateful that my - my - you - turn out to be a sorcerer, in a land were sorcery is banned. banned. and not only that, but i am the prince. the son of the king who banned sorcery. and have i mentioned that i should kill you? because yes, that's the punishment that comes with sorcery!”
they duck as a giant spider leaps for them, kiseop's eyes glowing gold as he puts up a shield to keep them safe from the prying legs. “well, i'm sorry your highness. to prove how sorry i am, my services will stop here.”
kiseop jumps up, sprinting to hide behind a tree a couple of meters away. soohyun is looking at him wide-eyed, then his gaze focuses on the big spider. kiseop can imagine what's going through his head right now. a giant spider planning to kill me. i'm going to die. kiseop is a sorcerer. magic.
right before the spider launches another fireball at soohyun, he places a shield around the prince. he isn't that cruel.
“weren't you going to stop your service?” soohyun yells at him, chest heaving with every breath he takes.
kiseop scoffs. “i apologize for not letting that fireball hurt you.”
“that's not what i - just get us out of here.”
“so you can kill me? or will you let the king do the honors?”
“get us out of here kiseop. that's an order.”
soohyun is prodding the fire, bottom lip jutted out in a pout. kiseop thinks it's highly unfair, considering he has a death treat hanging over his head, whereas soohyun just has to deal with finding another guy to order around.
“you know, you could just say thank you,” kiseop says, letting a bubble of water float around in the air. soohyun looks at the bubble and kiseop lets it drop.
it's silent for a couple of minutes, then soohyun clears his throat. “thank you.”
kiseop nods, smile playing on his lips. it's not often that he gets to hear the prince thanking him, so he's not going to push it. however insignificant the simple thank you may sound, kiseop knows it's filled with more than the two words.
“you're welcome,” he whispers.
soohyun locks eyes with him, then nods too. “i'm not going to tell anyone,” he says, looking at the fire. “it might not be the right thing to do, but it's the least i can do.”
“do you want me to leave after we return to the castle?” kiseop can't help but ask it. he knows he should be grateful that the prince won't tell anyone, but with their destiny - hell, even without their destiny he wants to stay.
after pondering on it for a while, soohyun sighs. “no.”
“who else would keep you safe?” kiseop lets out a shaky breath in relief. they lock eyes again, smiling at each other and just like that it's as if nothing ever happened.
“who else indeed.”
my, what big eyes you have

a not-so-innocent boy and a very bad wolf
apparently this is a game. kiseop didn't even realize he was playing it, until he gets pushed against a tree. the red eyes stare at him, the werewolf's fingers trailing down his throat and kiseop lets out a stuttering breath.
“you're cheating,” he gets out. and really, he's going along with the idea of this game way too easily. he should protest and say he doesn't want to do anything that involves the possibility of his fragile human body being in danger, but his imagination is leading a life on its own and now the image of soohyun as a dog, waggling his tail happily, is burned into his head. “it's not fair,” he mutters.
soohyun grins, showing part of his fangs as his nails dig into kiseop's chest. “my ground, my rules.” and with a last drag of his fingers he steps back, gazing at kiseop expectantly.
kiseop just rolls his eyes, putting his shaking hands in his pocket. “funny how those rules don't count when you invade my privacy in my house.” when soohyun just frowns, kiseop snorts. “next time it's my bedroom, my rules.”
“is that a promise?”
kiseop splutters, not sure if it's because of the implication or simply because soohyun just wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. “i- no! not a promise of anything- what are you implying? you're a bad wolf, a very bad wolf.”
soohyun laughs, stretching his arms above his head. “come on, let's do this one more time.”
he hesitates for a moment, but then kiseop nods. “okay. give me a minute.”
“thirty seconds.”
“that's not -” soohyun pushes him to the tree again, making the words come out in a low whine. kiseop decides that his life is just made up of embarrassing moments. “okay, fragile human here,” he murmurs.
soohyun loosens the grip on his shirt, then leans closer so his stubble is grazing kiseop's cheek. “my ground, my rules. thirty seconds.”
it's a miracle that kiseop is able to run, because his legs still feel like jelly. muttering things about stupid werewolves under his breath, he disappears into the woods. one of these days he'll be able to beat the werewolf at this game.
