in the end it's a path not taken
woohyun/sungjong; pg13
It takes all of his self-control to sit back and watch. To not jump up and push Sungjong against the wall, letting his hands drift up and down while they kiss until they're out of breath.
It takes all of his self-control to ignore those looks. Those looks that are trying to seduce him, luring him into a forbidden world where he would whisper suggestions and all he gets are moans in response.
It takes everything inside of him to not pull Sungjong closer. To hold him in his arms, to protect him from the world, to whisper sweet nothings into his ear. They would fall asleep, wrapped up together and in the morning they'd wake up and press sweet kisses onto each others lips.
Woohyun tries do everything he can to not give in. He tries to ignore the fluttery feeling in his chest, tries to ignore all the reasons why he should give in. Because if he gives in, it means forcing himself on Sungjong, forcing him into a relationship he isn't ready for. He thinks that's even worse than his own heartbreak. And that's why he ignores the desperate looks he gets, instead standing up and walking out of the room.
And in the middle of a room he leaves a young boy whose heart has just been broken for the first time.
stars in their eyes
hoya/myungsoo ; pg
Debuting was all they dreamed of for years. They gave up so much, some more than others, just for that moment. To stand on stage as a band, to show off their hard work, let people love their work.
And when they debut, it's all they ever wanted, except not. It's stressful, they mess up, people don't appreciate them because they're Infinite, no - they're Tablo's band. And everything they've worked for seems less important, because what is better than being a normal boy who has regular hours, who goes to school and stays up late to play some video game?
When Myungsoo finds Howon in an empty hallway, all their dreams come tumbling down.
“I gave up my life for this. And now what?”
Myungsoo stares at the poster in front of him, where all these famous bands are portayed as a happy family. “We move on.”
They sit in silence, turning their dreams upside down over and over, wondering what they can do to make this right.
And when Howon lets out a sob and lets his head fall onto Myungsoo's shoulder, Myungsoo wonders who was the person to put stars in their eyes. They've fallen down multiple times and the way back up is hard to find.
When he looks at the poster in front of him again, he shakes his head. They will prove they're more than just Tablo's band, they will show how much more they've got in store, people will love them because they're Infinite and it won't be a waste to have given up so much.
“We can't just let everyone defeat us,” Myungsoo whispers. “We'll go and show them that we're not so easily crushed.”
the first time we met
sungyeol/sungjong ; pg13
The first time they meet is weird and uncomfortable. That might have to do with the fact that there are seven boys suddenly pushed into one room together, with the mission to bond within an hour. Sungyeol promptly ignores the order and sits down in a corner, getting his phone out of his pocket as coverage and he stares at everyone through his fringe.
There's a boy, Sunggyu, who turns out to be the oldest. And the way he walks is certainly similar to a grandpa, Sungyeol thinks while snorting. He has a voice Sungyeol would kill for though, so he figures glaring at the guy is the best option (until Sunggyu gives him an eyesmile, Sungyeol can't help but smile back at that happy face).
Then there's Woohyun, the other main vocal. The boy has an amazing voice and claims he's going to be the visual of the group. Well, as if that is ever going to happen. But Sungyeol has to admit - with another haircut and some make-up, the boy might look just a little bit stunning. Maybe.
Dongwoo and Howon come as a pair, that much Sungyeol figured out after just meeting them once. Apparently they bonded over dancing when Sungyeol wasn't looking, that might have happened between glaring at Sunggyu and staring at Woohyun. But they come together, finish each others sentences and Sungyeol figures he must never stand close to them when they perform. His clumsy self can't keep up with the smooth moves those boys make. They're nice though - although Howon seems a little dorky with his glasses on and Dongwoo laughs like a hyena. But still, Sungyeol likes them.
Sungyeol himself comes next. Tucked savely in the middle age-wise, sticking out because of his height and skinny figure. He's average in everything (except his height) - his singing is alright, his dancing isn't bad. But he does have a talent for variety, or that's what his mother tells him.
Myungsoo is the second youngest. He's quiet and doesn't say much, sitting down a couple of meters from Sungyeol to watch the others stand in the middle of the room awkwardly (later on Sunggyu tells that Myungsoo and Sungyeol were making the others feel awkward). Sungyeol takes a liking to Myungsoo immediately. They laugh at Woohyun who trips over his feet when showing off, they roll their eyes at Dongwoo's hyena laugh and tease Sunggyu about being a grandpa. They connect on a level that the others don't understand, and it annoys them. But Sungyeol feels at ease, he knows he can share everything with Myungsoo without having to feel embarrassed. It's nice to know he might have a friend at the end of the day.
And last (but definitely not least, how cheesy that sounds) there is Sungjong.
{
Sungyeol doesn't really have a first impression of Sungjong. All he can remember is that he felt giddy when looking at the boy, staring at his lips whenever he thought Sungjong wasn't looking.
He wanted to kiss Sungjong the first time they met and Sungyeol doesn't think that's such a good first impression.
He wonders what would've happened if he did kiss Sungjong that first time. Sungjong would probably think he was a freak, but at the same time - he might have kissed Sungyeol back. They would've had a wild make out session in the bathroom, making sure the others wouldn't hear them.
Sungyeol's glad he didn't do anything stupid that first day. After all, Sungjong told him he was intrigued by the way Sungyeol just sat down and watched the others. Sungjong wanted to know him better because of that. And if that never happened, they wouldn't be where they are now - making out in the bathroom, making sure the others won't hear them.
