five minutes to midnight. you don't need to read it before this one, but if you do it'll make more sense. or just read this one first and the other one will make more sense. or just do whatever you like. that's fine too.
In his arms he holds a baby girl. He feels her warmth and he instinctivly holds her closer to his chest. He looks down at her to see her staring back at him with wide eyes. Junhyung just smiles at her, not knowing what else he should do. He looks at her tiny nose and those familiar dark brown eyes. Her hand reaches up and her little fingers reach out for him. She gurgles, making a noise that sounds like a laugh.
He moves his hand so she can hold onto it. He feels those little fingers curl themselves around his finger, tugging at it softly.
He hears a small laugh. He looks up to see Doojoon looking at them. They briefly lock eyes, until Junhyung looks back down at the baby in his arms. He can't help but smile every time he looks at her. He cooes at her, amused by the little sounds she makes. After a while her attention is elsewhere and he looks at Doojoon again.
“How is she?” he asks, saying it in a way only Doojoon understands.
“Alright. She doesn't like being seperated from Hwayoung, but she does whatever she has to, as long as she recovers.”
“When is she coming back?”
“The doctors say they'll let her go next week.”
Junhyung nods, while tiny legs kick excitedly. She's focused on him again, claiming his attention. He rubs her belly, purring at her as she shrieks in delight. She's so fragile, he thinks. Just one wrong move...
--
They stay like that for a while; Junhyung holding the little girl and Doojoon silently watching them. When Hwayoung finally falls alseep in Junhyung's arms, Doojoon takes over and lays her in her cradle.
Junhyung looks around the apartment, which is still empty, boxes full of clutter piled up in every corner, empty photo frames stuck on the wall. The only thing that brightens up the room is a picture of Hwayoung, placed on the table.
He picks up some magazine, starting to clean up. A card falls out of the pile and he picks it up to read it. You're invited to the wedding of Yoon Doojoon and Ha Nayoung. He holds himself back, stopping himself from tearing the card.
He starts wondering what could have been. If it weren't for her, would they have this life? He glances back at Hwayoung's photo and realized that there life would be wonderful and full of love...but empty, because Hwayoung wouldn't be there. She wouldn't be theirs.
Taking a deep breath, he puts the thought out of his head. He realizes how much he desires this perfect life with Doojoon.

They're laying next to each other, hands clasped tightly. Doojoon turns on his side, wrapping himself around Junhyung.
And one minute they're laying there calmly, next minute Junhyung is on top of Doojoon and kissing him senseless. They both know they need this, to unload, to promise, to believe.
Fevered kisses that express longing and need, want and lust, kisses that express something more.
They break apart after a while, both panting heavily. Doojoon sees the sadness and heartbreak in Junhyung's eyes. He trails Junhyung's lips with his fingers, making a way all over Junhyung's face.
“It's just something we can never have, right?” Junhyung whispers.
Doojoon feels his own heart break. “Maybe not now....” he presses a kiss to Junhyung's lips. “Maybe not now, but someday we will.”
Someday everything will be okay.
