Oktoberfest
Today is the first day of the annual Mount Angel Oktoberfest (it's in September because of the rains, or lack thereof). It's a pretty big deal in this town of 3,500. Especially since they get about 350,000 people coming.
I'm strongly considering not setting foot out of my room for the duration of this. Wherever one can find a million bottles of cheap beer seems like a good place to avoid (the seminarians aren't allowed to the biergarten anymore for various reasons, the primary being that most people here are still college students).
It is going to be . . . interesting.
