Once we let the Genie out of the bottle, he'll never fit back in again

I think that was the best pun ever. Seriously. And I hate most puns. That scene between Ray and the Guv was absolutely brill. Boys!

Chris and Shaz are serious awesomesauce. I quite like this cannon ship.

"My eye's on Neary...I mean I see him."
"Just follow him, dickhead."
"............I um...I've lost him."
:D!

RAY. I love you, Ray. You never impressed me in LoM, and I'm sorry for that, but any guy who can allow himself to be convinced to pretend to be gay for a job is my kind of hero. Even with a porn 'tache. *smishes Ray*

The gayness of the ep kind of felt like I was watching some kind of advert for a slash community on LJ. Between the jokes, the name calling and the description, it was odd. I didn't mind, but....it just definitely felt like an advert.

I realize why I hate Alex. 1) Her mommy issues are so much more "in your face" than Sam's daddy issues. We got two or three eps of Sam issues, which was cool because we didn't have to watch them (I don't watch the finale of the first series of LoM on a regular basis.) if we didn't want to. With A2A, it's in every episode so you can't escape it. You can skip over them, which I will if I rewatch those eps, but it's still annoying to have to slog through because you're afraid you'll miss plot.

2) Sam was quietly/privately crazy. Alex is loud crazy. She never loses an opportunity to remind Gene that he's not real. It's a slap in the face to the characters, and a slap in the face to the viewers. We're supposed to be deciding what's real for ourselves based on visual cues. I want to believe in this reality because I'm a dork and I like the boys. I don't want to be reminded that Sam "died" at the end of LoM 2x08. I can't do that if Alex is bitchsmacking me, telling me that she's imagining Gene imagining her doing stuff to her third cousin while imagining that elephants are pink and marching through an imaginary hole in space and...whatever that scene was about. So yeah. Alex, you can want to go home. Don't do it in front of the boys. You're the crazy one. Not the audience.

Aside from that, she's really quite a lot like Sam. I enjoyed her banter this week. I sort of wish she wouldn't fail quite so hard as she usually does, but...she could be a good character. I could like her maybe under different circs. Just...after Sam, she doesn't fit well in this whole time travelling business.

This episode's Crown of Awesome (TM) belongs to Gene. Yeah, I'm biased, but here's why:
-Gene runs like a gazelle. An ungraceful, slightly goofy looking gazelle.
-The sex jokes. Bang on character.
-The name calling.
-The homophobia which Sam should've beaten out of him by now.
-The ANGST. Holy Christ the beautiful, angry angst. *clings to Gene*
-The car keying.
-How it's just an honourable practice to protect informants, yet Gene does it anyway.
-How Gene get's so sad when he fails at it.
-How he lent the loser a suit. *hugs him tighter*
-Gene's a gentleman. That's why I love him.

Other opinions on who really deserves the Crown of Awesomeness (TM) will be noted and promptly ignored by virtue of Clarksonian logic.

I think I'm...at least I'm seriously considering...going to see Eddie Izzard in Boston on April 30th. I haven't even bought a ticket (yet, maybe) but I've got it all planned out. It's going to be reasonably hard core. Wish me luck in this.

i'm happy hope you're happy too
