 » God(dess): Eurus
» Family: {mother & father} Eos & Astraois ; {siblings} Boreas, Notus & Zephyrus
» Played By: Matsumoto Jun
» Human Alias: Azuma Shou 東翔
» Human Age: 23
» God of...: Eastern Anemoi, associated with autumn, warmth, rain and bad luck
» Flair: Marginal control over the temperature of his surroundings, though he finds it easier to heat things up than cool them down. This may be triggered by changes in his mood, and especially by strong negative emotions. In its extreme, Eurus may bring forth wind, rain or a heatwave. When angered, Eurus may also curse the person who wrought his wrath . Said person is likely to find himself experiencing a bout of inexplicable bad luck. Some may brush this off as a coincidence but we know better, aye?
» Flair Type: Activated
» Fitting in: A Japanese civil servant scholar, studying Meteorology in the university. For the moment, he will be taking a random whack at things with some luck and making useless attempts to figure things out along the way. When fancy strikes him some times in the near future, he will join a club or society to pass his time.

» History: Eurus, along with his three brothers, were born to Eos and Astraois. Alternating in form between winged men and horses, they were placed in a bag, which Eos gave to Aeolus. With his willingness to help, Eurus was granted some measure of freedom while under Aeolus' control. Although somewhat unpredictable, he always finished a given job and returned to the bag. The brothers were later freed, accidentally in most accounts, and the confined space was taken up by the less-cardinal winds.

Not much else is known about Eurus in myth.

Often overlooked for his more eye-catching siblings, Eurus simply continued to do his work well and without complaint, staying out of trouble as far as he could help it. Comfortable in his solitude, the wind mostly preferred watching to participating, even as events unfolded right before him. Sometimes, however, he failed to resist sticking an unnoticed finger or three into the smaller details of major occurrences, often saving children and women from the ravages of war. His ability to watch without being noticed, however, has also rise to his extensive knowledge of the going-ons of both the immortal and mortal realms.

Like most of his immortal peers, Eurus also held shreds of affection for mortals in general. This did not, however, involve bestowing a boon upon certain outstanding individuals. Rather, whenever fancy struck, he would walk in their midst, incognito in various innocuous forms, as he satisfied his need for interaction, bodily affection and the creation of the occasional goodwill or havoc. In fact, he was in the midst of winning a street soccer game in Japan when Khaos and Gaia decided to make his stay permanent.

» Personality: Eurus is, at heart, a good person. He is a loyal friend who treasures his relationships and friendships and is more than willing to go out of his way for loved ones. There is a special place in his heart for his three brothers and he has always been staunchly protective of family. Not one to covet the limelight, Eurus very much prefers to watch than be watched. He has superb observational skills and can run a witty (and detailed) commentary of the happenings in a room packed with people if he so wished. That said, the wind is not quite the expected wallflower. He is generous with his smiles, has a cheerful disposition for the most part and loves to indulge in bouts of shameless flirting even with perfect strangers.

Like his brothers, this anemoi has a hot temper, which frequently triggers off his flairs. Few like to anger him, if only because they fear the potent curse of bad luck. Unfortunately for them, it can be difficult to tell if Eurus is mad because he prefers to retaliate or exact revenge through non-confrontational means -- even if it means waiting for several years to appease his anger. He does not, however, hold unnecessary or unreasonable grudges. Or so he likes to claim.

In all, Eurus feels deeply and his actions are often emotion-driven. This has proven to be as much of a weakness as it is a positive trait. As the autumn wind, he is also associated with the season of harvesting. Perhaps this has resulted in the characteristic abundance of his emotions; he is as generous with his love and compassion as he is with his wrath and displeasure. He is also prone to bouts of mood swinging that may seem to be triggered by almost nothing at all. When melancholy or the need for introspection hits him, he can 'emo' like a professional, turning inwards and curling up into a tight metaphorical ball in order to shut out the world at large. Silence, sarcasm and snark then becomes the mode of communication for the day.

Another issue Eurus has, is that he is very sensitive - to how others treat him, and to how others want him to treat them. What this means is that he has trouble remaining detached. He is the photographer who sleeps with his subjects, the teacher who falls helplessly in love with his student and the method actor who places himself so well in the shoes of his characters that he finds it hard to resume his own skin. After all, he was also the wind who put himself at risk of incurring various gods’ wrath by meddling in matters that he should have had nothing to do with.

A habit that acquaintances would probably notice is Eurus’ tendency to mimic the people he interacts with. Somewhat due to the formlessness of his immortal body and a poorly hidden mischievous streak, he enjoys adopting others’ speech and behavioural patterns either in an attempt to tease, to make the other party more comfortable or for no reason whatsoever aside from a whim or fancy. Call him out on it and he may stop but no promises are being made. Although he has some sense of self preservation when higher beings are involved, the wind has little notion of personal space and privacy when he gets comfortable around certain people.
