It's over. It's just begun.

I am on such a ridiculous high right now~.

I wound up watching the Inauguration today in the college auditorium with a few people I had met in my Western Civ. class. Someone had set up a live feed to CNN and the entire place with packed. It was quite the happy accident, watching this historic event with a bunch of strangers. To see an Administration I have spent almost my entire politically sentient life under, leaving and another one replacing it--with all that pomp and ceremony that the lapsed Catholic in me adores.

Most of all though, I will always remember the way the entire place erupted when Barack Obama was introduced as 'The President of the United States".

I know he's a man like any other, and a politician at that. Change isn't going to magically happen over night. Heck, I think everyone knows that. The important thing is that people are willing to try and change. The last eight years have left the nation in quite the hole. And listening to Obama speak to the American people like adults is both refreshing and a good start.

I have never been prouder in my entire life to be American.

obama, politics, life
