WHY- It's been a life long (not so-)secret dream of mine to be a rock star. I have spent an absurd amount of my quiet time thinking up album and song names. I have also spent an absurd amount of my quiet time meticulously planning my musical career despite the fact I have no musical talent and don't actually intend to seriously pursue it, that it's just a fantasy I like to play with. It's time to base this fantasy in reality, not so I can become famous, or good, or anything beyond just being able to know that when I have a dream I follow it.
HOW- I have taken asked my boss for the first week of January off from work, a time when I will also have no school. With this free week, I will spend my time working on the album relentlessly. I will use the program Garageband on my new Mac to compose loops and either use the mic I got for Christmas to record my vocals. I will write all my own lyrics, except, perhaps, for a cover I will decide upon later. I will burn 24 copies of this album and design the cases for them in the week following my recording week and distribute the CD as I see fit.
WHAT WILL COME OF THIS? - I will have done something I've wanted to do my entire life and that's a good enough reason to do anything. I will achieve a sense of accomplishment and pride. I will feel more confident. I will have used my creativity in a new way, thus expanding my creative horizon.
