Beautiful Grey Skies! I got home just in time to avoid the rain, but went out anyway to snap the beautiful sunset~!
Very behind in my studies. I FINALLY got my portfolio and so have been working on it all week; not actually had a chance to start my new project properly yet (which has to be in on monday). Have been given a 3,000 word essay to complete by the 14th of March which may be difficult as I'm away through most of it. Need to update my personal statement yet again and apply through Route B. Must must MUST finish my Unit 1 A/S work and begin Unit 2 (hoping to do photography while in London, nice quick and easy.) And above all, I have my interviews.
So this may be my last update until I'm back from London (sometime after the 11th). Will be busy busy busy being interviewed, gallery browsing, university visiting and trying not to go shopping too much. So, will see you all soon. GODS SPEED!
Last Sunday was of course, Chinese New Year! (Happy Year of the Boar!) As usual, I wanted to join in the festival~! For the past few years, I've always gone to Liverpool's China Town to celebrate, but this year, I took a fancy to going to Manchester's China Town! I must say, it was a rather different experience indeed~ Liverpool is often quiet and not so exciting~ Manchester was the complete opposite! So many people! I grabbed some photos through a bit of the festival~ Please enjoy =333
Mass of crowds~ It was so hard to walk about~ Constantly shuffling and being pushed!
Background shot of the Chinese Arch in Manchester~
More crowds awaiting for the Dragon!
I have forgotten the term for this man's role, but he gives out wishes and gifts to children during the festival~
The Dragon arrives!
And then turns back to us~
Natural lens flare adding some drama~!
Another shot of the Arch.
This was after a few hours and the festival was calming down a bit.
It was a really good day out, although a cold one. I bought quite a few things too and discovered a sweet little fashion shop I hadn't seen before! I want so much stuff from it, it was so cute~ T^T I look forward to next year's celebration when I will hopefully be in LONDON~!
I have a new class mate in Art Foundation, his name was CROTCHFACE. But he is needing a new name now that he is whole again. For a week or more, his CROTCH WITH LEGS has been staring at me across the room, but today his TORSO turned up unexpectedly! So I put him together again and carried him (with difficulty; he is rather tall!) over to the Illustration table and dressed him accordingly with my jacket as he looked so cold! When leaving for home, I was upset to take my jacket back from him as he looked so chilly (and without arms to hug himself warm! Poor boy~ Let's hope his arms turn up soon also!) so I found a large fur coat in the scrap fabric pile under the Textiles/Fashion table and dressed him in that! He is now rather PIMPING.
Here is Kerry with CROTCHFACE when dressed in my jacket. He lacks a face and hair also at the moment. Don't you just feel so sorry for him? =(
