i know that many of you would probably never have expected me to say this, but i'm proud to be american.
last night several hundred people spontaneously congregated on one of the residential quads and just milled around chanting, singing, dancing, hugging and smiling. i kissed a girl in the crowd, started a "U-S-A" chant, held strangers' hands while singing kumbaya, and it made me feel really good.
